Manama – His Excellency Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayed, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), met with His Excellency Witold Bańka, President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), in the presence of Mr. Fares Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, along with Mr. Rafal Peciota, Chief of Staff to the WADA President, and Ms. Anna Ullman, WADA Communications Director. The meeting discussed frameworks for enhancing joint cooperation in safeguarding sports integrity and combating doping. The discussions focused on ways to strengthen the partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and WADA, ensuring alignment of national regulations with the World Anti-Doping Code, while enhancing national awareness, training, and capacity-building programs. During the meeting, H.E. Almoayed reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support for clean sport, commending WADA’s pioneering role in promoting fairness and transparency in the global sports sector. H.E. stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with international bodies to keep pace with best global practices in the field. For his part, Mr. Fares Al Kooheji expressed the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s keen interest in deepening coordination with WADA, particularly in designing and implementing awareness programs targeting athletes and coaches to help foster a doping-free sports environment. Meanwhile, Mr. Witold Bańka praised the notable progress made by the Kingdom of Bahrain in anti-doping efforts, expressing WADA’s appreciation for Bahrain’s commitment to international laws and standards, and reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to provide technical and professional support to further strengthen Bahrain’s initiatives in this domain.
