Strategic Partnership Between SCYS, Kurdistan Foundation to Support Youth Empowerment
His Excellency Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), received a delegation from the Kurdistan Foundation, headed by Dr. Yara Barzanji, Director General of the Foundation. His Excellency Aymen bin Tawfeeq Almoayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), received a delegation from the Kurdistan Foundation, headed by Dr. Yara Barzanji, Director General of the Foundation. The meeting was attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs; Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Assistant Secretary-General of the SCYS; Shaikha Deena bint Rashid Al Khalifa, Planning and Development Advisor at the Ministry of Youth Affairs; and Noora Ahmed Al Balushi, Director General of Planning and Resources at the General Secretariat of the SCYS. From the Kurdistan Foundation, the delegation also included Ghashbin Tariq Najeeb, Director of Partnerships; Ahmad Safa, Communications Director; and Vina Sherzad Sultan, Business Liaison Supervisor. The meeting discussed means to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kurdistan Region, particularly in the field of youth, with a focus on exchanging expertise and developing joint initiatives and programmes that support youth empowerment. H.E. Almoayed emphasized the importance of advancing regional and international cooperation in youth and sports, noting that such meetings contribute to knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the development of programs and initiatives that serve the youth in Bahrain. On her part, Dr. Barzanji expressed appreciation for the close ties between the Kingdom and Kurdistan. Dr. Barzanji highlighted that the Kurdistan Foundation works to empower individuals and promote values of belonging and community participation through a range of initiatives, including the digital volunteering platform Volunteer.KRD. Both sides agreed to continue coordination to develop practical projects and programmes that serve youth in both communities, acting as a bridge for communication and cooperation between peoples. The Kurdistan Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people in the Kurdistan Region to develop skills and independent thinking, enabling their contribution to a prosperous society. Its work focuses on three main areas: building, belonging, and advancing. The Foundation aims to enhance national identity, encourage volunteerism and community engagement, support the empowerment of youth and women, preserve cultural heritage, and promote international cooperation through strategic partnerships. Volunteer.KRD is one of the Foundation’s flagship initiatives. It is the first digital volunteering platform in the Kurdistan Region, connecting volunteers with community opportunities and contributing to sustainable development.
