His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, said that the education sector in the Kingdom enjoys the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and that the achievements and progress achieved by all educational sectors in the Kingdom in various fields are the result of the royal support and patronage of His Majesty, may God support him, considering education as a pillar It is one of the pillars of development and educational progress, in light of the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, and His Highness expressed his appreciation for the outstanding efforts exerted by the Ministry of Education in providing the appropriate environment for educational staff and students in all schools.
This came on the occasion of the visit of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to Al Taawun Secondary School for Boys, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, where His Highness honored the distinguished students in sports and academics, where they were received by His Highness Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education, and His Excellency Mr. Ayman bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports. HE Minister of Youth Affairs Rawan bint Najib Tawfiqi, HE Dr. Abdulrahman bin Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Education and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
His Highness invited the distinguished students to participate in the Champion Making Program at IMG Academy in the United States of America, Florida, where their participation in the training camp and their training in their favorite sport will be held by specialized coaches.
H.H. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out that Al Taawun Secondary School for Boys is considered a prominent national edifice in presenting a distinctive painting in scientific creativity and the contributions made by students to excellence between the sports and academic aspects.
During the visit, HE the Minister of Education delivered a speech in which he welcomed His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa at Al Taawun Secondary School for Boys, noting the importance of the visit, which coincides with the Kingdom's celebrations of the silver jubilee of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and constitutes an opportunity to renew pride and pride in the blessed development process in the prosperous era and the pioneering achievements achieved in various fields, including the education sectors and pride in the attention and care given by the esteemed government under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to the youth who represent the real wealth of the country.
HE the Minister affirmed the pride of the educational family in the inspiring role of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for school youth and sports at the head of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and with the tireless support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, which had a great impact on motivating promising sports talents.
Then, student Hadi Abdul Jalil Al-Sumaikh recited a poem on this occasion written by Mr. Abdul Raouf Al-Shehabi, after which a presentation was presented highlighting the school's achievements in the field of sports, including the school's winning the Nasser bin Hamad Secondary School Football Championship for the academic year (2021-2022), and winning the title of the Basketball Championship for Secondary Schools for Boys, in 2023. The school's team player, Mr. Ali Abdel Jalil, won the best player award in the match that brought his team together with the team of Ibn Khaldun National School within the Nasser bin Hamad Secondary School Football Championship in its 2022 edition, and the school was crowned with the first place cup in the boys' table tennis championship for the secondary stage.
Afterwards, a video was shown with excerpts from the Nasser bin Hamad High School Football Championship.
At the end of the visit, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa honored the school's distinguished students academically and athletically: Hassan Habib Ali, Hadi Mahdi Ahmed and Hussain Zuhair Al Hubail.
