Strategic Projects

The Sports City project is one of the most prominent developmental projects in Bahrain's sports sector. It reflects the visionary leadership and substantial support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing the country’s sports infrastructure. The project aims to establish a comprehensive, world-class sports city capable of accommodating the rapid growth in the sports sector and hosting international championships. The city will include a national sports stadium — the first of its kind — and a multi-purpose arena with a seating capacity of up to 46,000 spectators. It will also feature multiple state-of-the-art facilities linked to innovative commercial ventures, transforming the Sports City into a vibrant, community-focused hub that strengthens Bahrain’s position as a capital of youth and sports.
